Therapy can be powerful and life-changing, and it requires you to make a significant investment in yourself financially and otherwise. I am not contracted with health insurance companies and do not bill health insurance directly. However, my services may be eligible for "out-of-network" reimbursement from health insurance companies, and I can provide insurance receipts (aka superbills) after every session. Please note that couples therapy is not typically eligible for reimbursement.

If you hope to have session fees reimbursed by your insurance company, I recommend contacting them before scheduling an appointment with me and asking the following questions:

• Do I have mental health insurance benefits on my insurance policy?

• For couples: does my plan cover couples therapy? (Diagnostic Code: Problems in relationship with spouse or partner Z63.0)

• Does my plan reimburse for services provided by out-of-network providers? 

• Does my plan cover services for providers who hold an associate's license? 

• What is my co-pay for each session?

• Is there a deductible that needs to be met?

• Is pre-authorization required and, if so, do I need to obtain it before I meet with my therapist?

• How many sessions per year does my plan cover?
